11 weeks into deployment

Well, I suppose it's a good thing that I don't have anything exciting to report! He doesn't seem to be doing much except planning safely on post! He doesn't need much, getting him some socks from the PX at Fort Meade this weekend! He sounds like he's been keeping busy with his work on post and hitting the gym, I don't think he's bored all that much. I don't talk to him too frequently, but when I do it's the greatest 20 minutes of my day! We get to chat on Gmail when he wakes me up, don't mind that at all!
I've been keeping pretty busy while Chris has been away. Student teaching started at the beginning of the month and so far it's going great! I love the teacher's I'm with and they've pretty much given me control of the classes already. I'm still in elementary school which I"m actually enjoying! Other than that, I've been able to spend a lot of great time with great friends. I've been camping with my friend Michelle and the doggies, had many great nights sitting and talking to Becca and a number of good times with my Army wife pals, Alex and Erika. Just really trying to make the time go by. This weekend Alex and I are going to be at Fort Meade volunteering with the USO for a special family fun day for families of deployed soldiers! I'm really excited that Alex is letting me tag along! And then on Sunday, we head to Baltimore for a day at the ballpark! Though I wish Chris was here to enjoy these things with me, it helps to have some girls that get what's going on and commiserate with! I'm very lucky! If there were a way for me to take Cardboard Chris with us, I would!!
I've also drown myself in this new obsession that I have of running. Its been clearing my head each morning and I want to be in tip top shape when he comes home! Running a 5K in two weeks with Alex for a charity that gives money to families that have lost a family member overseas and then the Army 10 miler in October in honor of my husband, whom I'm so incredibly proud of. Who knew I'd be into running...

So that's pretty much it, not much to report which is a good thing. He's safe and from what he reports, pretty busy. I'm sure he would like to get mail from folks, so if you'd like his APO address, please let me know and I'd be happy to get it to you! He does like baked goods!
Thanks again for all the support, we couldn't make it through this without good friends.

Alex, thanks for this prayer, it'll keep me strong!

"Dear Lord,
Give me the greatness of heart to see the difference between duty and his love for me.
Give me understanding that I may know, when duty calls him he must go.
Give me a task to do each day, to fill the time when he's away.
And Lord, when he's in a foreign land, keep him safe in your loving hand.
And Lord, when duty is in the field, please protect him and be his shield.
And Lord, when deployment is so long, please stay with me and keep me strong.
Amen."
